EMEA Executive Privacy Counsel, GE HEALTHCARE
Carlos Garcia-Mauriño is the EMEA Executive Privacy Counsel for General Electric Healthcare, a leading provider of medical imaging, monitoring and diagnosis devices and drug discovery and biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies. In this role he leads and coordinates all major projects to improve Data Protection compliance in the region, participates in the design of key global and regional projects and systems to ensure compliance with EMEA privacy rules and works with Development teams to ensure that the design of new products and services incorporates appropriate Data Privacy protections and controls before go-to-market. Currently he leads the GDPR compliance efforts for GEHC in Europe, setting the strategic direction and leading or overseeing all projects currently underway.
Before joining GE, Carlos was the EMEA Privacy Officer for Oracle Corporation where he lead Oracle’s EMEA privacy compliance program and laid the foundations of the Privacy-compliant approach for the roll out of the Oracle Cloud Services in Europe. Whilst in Oracle he negotiated and helped to close many multi-million Euros Cloud services contracts.
Prior to that, Carlos fulfilled various roles in Oracle’s Legal Department (including a 2-year’s tenure as EMEA Deputy Compliance Officer) and also worked as a Senior Legal Counsel for Procter & Gamble.
